Forthcoming Book on ADHD & Trauma

“Mindfulness could also be described as ‘heartfulness’ because it is really about a compassionate awareness.” -Williams

“Jon Kabat-Zinn, who derived the modern concept of mindfulness practice from traditional Buddhist meditation, notes that in many Asian languages, the word for “mind” also means “heart.” So “mindfulness” also necessarily implies “heartfulness.” -Snyder

“The Japanese kanji for mindfulness on the top part means “presence,” and the bottom part, shin, means “mind” or “heart”—they’re interchangeable. So mindfulness could be translated as heartfulness -Shauna Shapiro

Heartfulness is a spiritual practice focused on inner awareness, compassion, and connection, often involving meditation on the heart to cultivate qualities like love, sincerity, and peace, moving beyond simple mindfulness to a deeper, heart-centered state of being and action. It’s a path to self-realization and unity with the universal consciousness, guided by simple practices like meditation, cleaning, and prayer. In general, heartfulness is a heart-centred way of living.
